Christian Kjaer
Board Chair & CEO
Christian Kjaer, Board Chair & CEO, brings a wealth of executive experience to Cultivate Biologics. A former senior executive at IDEXX Laboratories, Christian served as President of OPTI Medical Systems and held the positions of VP and GM of the Water Division, as well as VP and GM of the South Asia/Middle East/Africa Region. His extensive leadership extends beyond borders, as he has previously held CEO positions in prominent European tech companies.
In addition to his role at Cultivate Biologics, Christian serves as the Board Chair and CEO of ElleVet Sciences and TevElle Pharmaceuticals. He holds a Master of Business from the prestigious Copenhagen Business School, a testament to his academic dedication and business acumen. Christian’s multifaceted expertise and strategic vision guide Cultivate Biologics towards a future of innovative and impactful advancements in the field of cannabinoid research.
Dr. Joseph Wakshlag, DVM, PhD, DACVN, DACVSMR
Chief Scientific Officer
Dr. Joseph Wakshlag, DVM, PhD, DACVN, DACVSMR, serves as the Chief Scientific Officer at Cultivate Biologics. Currently a distinguished professor at the Cornell College of Veterinary Medicine, he also holds the pivotal role of Chief Veterinary Medical Officer at ElleVet Sciences, a renowned leader in veterinary hemp products. With a rich background, Dr. Wakshlag is a charter member of the American College of Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation, highlighting his dedication to the interdisciplinary field of sports medicine.
His significant contributions to the scientific community include authoring 14 publications, encompassing a diverse range of topics in full spectrum CBD/CBDA hemp use. Dr. Wakshlag has conducted pioneering clinical trials examining the efficacy of hemp in conditions such as osteoarthritis, acute post-surgical pain, and atopic dermatitis in dogs. His research extends beyond species boundaries, delving into cross-species pharmacokinetics in horses, cats, dogs, and birds.
Dr. Wakshlag’s multifaceted expertise positions him as a key figure in advancing the understanding of cannabinoid therapeutics, contributing to the growth and success of Cultivate Biologics in the realm of innovative health solutions.
